Compliance with accessibility requirements (How we meet the requirements)
We have tested www.ihre-radiologen.de with regard to the following regulations: European Accessibility Act, Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) [Accessibility Enhancement Act], EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.2. In doing so, we ensure that the following principles are met:
Perceptible
- The content is presented in an order that corresponds to its logical and semantic structure and enables assistive technologies to interpret it correctly.
- Instructions for understanding and operating content do not rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, colour, size, visual position, orientation or sound.
- Sufficient colour contrast is ensured for text and central visual elements, with a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text.
- The content is customisable so that users can adjust the text size individually without the user interface losing functionality.
- Changes to text spacing (such as line height, spacing between paragraphs, letters or words) do not result in the loss of information or content.
Operable
- All functions are available via the keyboard (or keyboard-like assistive technology). This includes menus, links, forms, sliders and interactive controls.
- There are no keyboard traps (free navigation into and out of all components is possible).
- No content-imposed time limits are enforced, or if present, they are controllable, customisable, extendable by the user, or justified by functional or legal requirements.
- No flashing or flickering content that could trigger seizures is used; safety limits are observed.
- Skip links are implemented to enable quick navigation to the main content, thereby improving accessibility and user experience.
- The screens of the service process have titles that describe their topic or purpose.
- Headings and labels provide clear information about content and functionality.
- Elements that can receive keyboard navigation focus are always at least partially visible in the viewport.
- For user interface components with labels that contain text or text images, the name read by assistive technologies includes the visually displayed text.
- The clickable area of interactive elements is large enough to ensure easy interaction for users.
Understandable
- The language of each page is correctly defined and used consistently throughout the service.
- User interface components do not trigger unexpected context changes when activated by users via keyboard or assistive technologies, which could lead to confusion.
- The existing navigation mechanisms are positioned consistently throughout the service.
- Recurring elements of the user interface are designed uniformly to make them easier to recognise.
- If an input error is detected automatically, the incorrect element is identified and the error is described in text form.
- Where necessary, labels or instructions are provided when content requires input from users.
- If an input error is detected and correction suggestions are known, these are provided to the user, unless legal regulations preclude this.
- We write content in clear and simple language.
Robust
- Standardised development technologies are used that can be interpreted by assistive technologies.
- Where available, status messages are made accessible so that assistive technologies can interpret them without requiring a change of focus.
We test www.ihre-radiologen.de with the most common assistive technologies in various combinations of operating systems and browsers:
- Screen readers such as NVDA and JAWS (Windows) and VoiceOver (Mac and iOS) help us ensure that all interactive elements are read aloud correctly and can be operated.
- We also test usage with screen magnification and in high-contrast mode.
Our goal is to be compatible with the current versions of common assistive technologies. In doing so, we follow the best practices of WCAG 2.2 and the EN 301 549 standard. This ensures that accessibility is maintained even with future technical developments.
Standards:
On this basis, we apply the criteria of WCAG 2.2 (AA level, current version) and EN 301 549. Compliance with these standards is considered proof of conformity with the EAA, the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) and other relevant regulations.
Ongoing monitoring and maintenance
For us, accessibility is not a one-off project, but an ongoing process. This is how we ensure that www.ihre-radiologen.de remains permanently accessible:
- Accessibility coordination
An accessibility coordinator monitors all measures relating to www.ihre-radiologen.de and can be contacted at info@ihre-radiologen.de . - Accessibility team
Accessibility experts check every new feature or major change for potential barriers before it is released. We also track changes in laws and standards and take new developments in assistive technologies into account in our updates. - Automated checks
Testing and monitoring tools are integrated into our development process. They detect typical problems such as missing ALT texts or form labels at an early stage. Every code version undergoes these checks. - External audits
On 03/09/2025, we conducted an objective audit by AccessiWay. Further audits will follow at least annually, including manual tests with assistive technologies.
